Conformity Names Tom Bishop as Chief Technology Officer

(01.15.10) Conformity Inc., Austin, Texas-based provider of the first enterprise-class management and governance solution for SaaS and cloud applications, today announced that software industry veteran Tom Bishop has been named chief technology officer (CTO). Bishop is a recognized and award-winning CTO, and brings more than 30 years of experience in senior technology and strategy roles at a variety of pioneering systems management solution vendors.

As CTO, Bishop will be responsible for the overall technology vision and strategy at Conformity. Roy Kipp, co-founder and former CTO has been named chief information officer, and will assume responsibility for internal operations, production deployment and overall deployment architecture.

Most recently, Bishop was vice president of engineering for Storspeed, an Austin-based provider of application-aware caching appliances. Prior, he was vice president and chief technology officer at BMC Software, where he was responsible for product vision and direction, including advancing Atrium, the company's innovative open-architected foundation for its Business Service Management solutions.

Bishop has also served as CTO of VIEO Inc., where he was named "Chief Technology Officer of the Year" by InfoWorld magazine. Bishop was also the former chief technology officer of IBM Tivoli, where he created and led Tivoli's distributed systems management technology and products.
