NetIQ Corp. has unveiled NetIQ's Security Management Suite. Incorporating new versions of NetIQ Vulnerability Manager, NetIQ Patch Manager and NetIQ Security Manager, NetIQ's Security Management Suite represents an integrated, closed-loop approach to managing enterprise security.

NetIQ also announced strategic partnerships with Herndon, Va.-based TruSecure and Rosedale, Minn.-based Shavlik.

TruSecure's technology will be included as a new vulnerability content service within NetIQ Vulnerability Manager 5.0. Shavlik will provide technology that ensures a complete remediation solution for distributing and validating patches in Microsoft Windows environments. The integrated patch management product will be branded NetIQ Patch Manager.

NetIQ's Security Management Suite includes the following products.

• NetIQ Security Manager 5.0: This detects and prevents intrusions, provides centralized real-time event monitoring with integrated event management and incident response across all areas of the IT infrastructure, while leveraging existing antivirus, firewalls, routers and intrusion detection point solutions.
  
  
• NetIQ Vulnerability Manager 5.0: Formerly VigilEnt Security Manager, this delivers all the necessary components for vulnerability management including: notification and advisory around security content, vulnerabilities, policies and regulations; policy compliance and auditing; vulnerability scanning; and patch/configuration management and remediation.
  
  
• NetIQ Patch Manager 4.2: A collaborative tool for sharing knowledge among multiple administrators, NetIQ Patch Manager will allow administrators to work with patches in a variety of ways and automate the scanning of Windows platforms and products.
