AdventNet Supports sFlow in its NetFlow Analyzer

AdventNet Inc., a provider of enterprise IT management software, has announced the availability of support for sFlow in NetFlow Analyzer 6.0. This extends the management capabilities of the product to include devices from Alcatel-Lucent, Extreme Networks, Foundry Networks, HP, Hitachi, NEC and more.

sFlow is an industry standard technology for monitoring high speed switchednetworks. It gives complete visibility into the use of networks enabling performance optimization, accounting/billing for usage, and defense against security threats. By providing unprecedented visibility into network usage and active routes of even today's high-speed and complex networks, sFlow provides the data required to effectively control and manage network usage, ensuring that network services provide a competitive advantage. As an embedded technology providing probe-like functionality for every interface, sFlow enabled switches and routers future-proof the network infrastructure. This built-in capability makes many applications possible that otherwise would not be practical because of the prohibitive expense of external probes. Devices manufactured by vendors like Alcatel-Lucent, Extreme Networks, Foundry Networks, HP, Hitachi, NEC etc are capable of exporting sFlow.

"As the market leader in flow based network analysis, we have been receiving a strong demand to monitor devices that export sFlow. The sampling technology involved in sFlow makes it a great choice in monitoring high speed switches and routers", said Raghu Ramanujam, product manager for NetFlow Analyzer at AdventNet. "We are glad to address the monitoring needs and enable customers to leverage their existing infrastructure investments" he added.
