Fujitsu adds IP serial console switch for remote device management
With increasing corporate globalization prompting the need for remote management capability, Fujitsu Components America Inc. has added a software-free, IP-Serial console switch/1-port converter to its SERVIS system product line. The new device expands Fujitsu's existing line of KVM switches, console drawers and Cat5 extenders for flexible network connectivity solutions.
Using a Character User Interface, the new FX-3001SR series provides one administrator and up to four registered users with secure access to remote servers and serial-based peripherals through a local or remote IP network using a 10/100BASE-TX or serial connection.
Applications include headless servers, routers, LAN switches, process controls, scanners and power supply management in various industries such as enterprises, medical and healthcare facilities, industrial factories and retail establishments. The FX-3001SR IP-serial console switch/1-port converter supports all major server platforms as well as SSH, Telnet and IPv4 clients. Transmitted data is encrypted and user access is authenticated by user name and password.
The 1U device measures 110(W) x 114(D) x 32(H)mm and is RoHS compliant. It supports auto negotiation and serial-to-LAN interface conversion. A Compact Flash model for data logging is also available in the series.
